RanchTek's Graze-O-Matic Model 2400 Automatic Feeder

How it works: The auto feeders hopper is filled with 280 lbs of alfalfa, oat hay,  or other type of cube or pellet. Every three hours a timer turns on the feeder motor. When the weight of the feed in the pan reaches the amount set on the selector knob, the motor is turned off by the on board computer. In 3 hours the process repeats.

An over-ride button is provided that allows you to test the feeder or just give your horse a treat. This helps them connect your presence with the feeding, adding to the bond between you.

Benefits

bulletIf being tied to your horse isn't what you had in mind when you got him. Let us feed him and you spend quality time together with him that is convenient leisurely and pleasurable to the both of you.
bulletThe time you spend with your horse should be fun and relaxing for both of you. Not a quick stop to feed just to prevent neglect.
bulletExperts say 6 or more smaller feedings per day is more natural than 1 or 2 big feedings and reduces the risk of colic and impaction.
bulletNaturally the horse grazes throughout the day and even at night. The 8 feedings per day simulates this natural behavior.
bulletYou don't have to trust or bother your neighbor or friend to feed while your gone.
bulletNo more feeding in the dark, rain and cold.
bulletWeight control. Its easy to consistently control how much feed your Horse is getting.
bulletCost Savings. No loss due to feed throwing, wet hay
bulletHigher nutritional value per dollar.
bulletLabor Savings. Saves your time and eliminates the cost of ranch hand time for feeding.
bulletFreedom. You can actually leave your Ranch without worrying about returning in time to feed.
bulletHappy Horse. A well fed horse is more content and easier to handle. (but then so am I)
